Any smoothie fans out there?

I’m a 3 meal a day kinda girl, myself, but sometimes, you just need a rescue!   Since I am not a morning person (at all), if there is one area where I need a good rescue plan – it’s breakfast.

Some days I’m not all that hungry at breakfast but I need a little something.  And some days, I’m just short on time and need something easy to take out the door.  A good smoothie recipe can be a great go-to solution for those busy work days. Be sure to choose a recipe that gives you plenty of protein and some fiber would be ideal.  That way, you get something in you that is delicious and filling and fuels you until lunch time.  Good smoothie recipes can help you knock out your veggie goals for the day as well.  I seem to struggle to get my “5-A-Days” in (fruit/veggie goal) and its particularly difficult for me in the morning.

Here’s a really tasty and nutritional powerhouse for you to try!  In addition to protein, It includes the magical avocado for healthy fats, creaminess, and fiber and also spinach for tons of nutrients.  If the green color is not for you … throw in a handful of blueberries for color and antioxidants!  Enjoy!

1 cup almond milk, unsweetened

1 small banana, frozen

1 tablespoon natural peanut butter or almond butter

1 handful spinach, raw

1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder (I use Quest)

Blend until smooth
